At Mac Therapy my main specialist field is TRAUMA, and the symptoms of how that presents; anxiety, low mood, grief, and self-concept (how you feel about yourself).

When traumatic incidents occur, whether in childhood or adulthood, it can have a profound affect negatively on how we view ourselves (think self esteem, self-worth, and confidence).
Trauma affects how we navigate through life; in our social circles, and our relationships.
Trauma creates behavioural patterns, and habits, that we follow to make us feel safe; albeit, these patterns are unlikely needed now, present as a hinderance, or in fact hold us back.

Experiencing past trauma, creates deep rooted beliefs about the self, and the world around, that are not true.
At Mac Therapy, my 8 week Inner Child/Trauma Programme is a full package covering all the main areas, in how trauma affects us, tailored to your specific trauma.
1. We will deal with the symptoms presenting first (anxiety, low mood, grief), so that you feel more in control in your daily life, feel less overwhelmed, and learn healthy coping strategies.
2. Rewire the traumatic events, so that you feel less emotional about this memory (not easily triggered).

3. Look at negative patterns, and habits; in particular to look at the ones that you developed historically to keep you feeling safe, or to cope, yet hold you back.

4. Re-parenting your inner child; giving yourself what you didn’t feel you received historically, and resetting you to your true authentic self (who you would be if the trauma had not taken place).

5. Rewire all the negative self-beliefs that you developed that are untrue about the self - (increasing esteem, self love, worth, and confidence).
